Our latest research paper which explores the climate of the Marrakech High Atlas is out now in Arctic, Antarctic, and Alpine Research, and available Open Access.
You can read the paper here: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/15230430.2022.2046897
In the paper, we take a look at recent climate data from a network of weather stations in the region that are run by Le Laboratoire Mixte International TREMA ("Télédétection et Ressources en Eau en Méditerranée semi-Aride") https://www.lmi-trema.ma/. We focus on temperature lapse rates and precipitation gradients to characterise the climate of the region.
Our analysis suggests a complex climate region, with temperature lapse rates lower than the standard environmental lapse rate, and highly variable rainfall within the region and from year to year. Be sure to check out the paper for full details.
