Phil and Will took a trip to the "Névé Permanent" on the Tazaghart plateau to collect rock samples for cosmogenic dating.
Starting from the base in Imlil, and accompanied by two guides, the team walked 8 hours, ascending some 1600 metres to reach the Lepiney hut, which would be home for 2 nights.
After a stormy first night, the next couple of days was spent sampling moraines, from the Lepiney hut towards the Tazaghart plateau, and the Névé Permanent, which is a year-round snow patch in the High Atlas.
After three days of hard work, the team headed back to Imlil, before onwards to Marrakech, where they met up with our project partner, Ali Rhoujjati (Université Cadi Ayyad) to discuss the findings and future plans
